“But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. “You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.”
Psalms 119:114 NKJV
The Bible tells us where our true hiding place is.
His name is Jesus.
We hide to feed.
We hide to refresh.
We hide to be intimate.
When we don’t know what to do,
we get to go into hiding to get clarity.
When we don’t feel good enough,
we get to go into hiding to be reminded that we are complete in Him.
When we don’t feel loved,
we get to go into hiding and receive His tender love afresh.
When we forgot our purpose in life,
we get to go into hiding and be reminded
that life is about knowing Him and making Him known.
When we feel condemned and ashamed,
we get to go into hiding and be reminded of our righteous standing in Him forever.
When we are sin-conscious,
we get to go into hiding and become Jesus-conscious.
When we feel the demands of life,
we get to go into hiding and receive His supply.
Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayed —keep that dusted off and in use.
