“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
it shall not return to Me void,
but it shall accomplish what I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
In the early church, whenever the Word of God was preached,
there were miracles of salvation, healings, and other signs and wonders.
The demon-possessed were set free. The paralyzed jumped up and walked.
People received their loved ones back from the dead.
“For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
Isaiah 55:12 NKJV
I can’t help but visualize joyful sheep being let out into wide open fields of green.
Then the shepherd leads them forward to places he has planned beforehand. 🙂
On a personal “here and now” note, this is what I see:
As you go out with joy… yes, let’s choose joy each morning as we step out of the house … the journey continues with Him leading you forth with peace. Follow the peace within.
On a Jesus-note, this is what I see: Jesus going out with joy wherever He went, from village to village, preaching the Gospel and healing the sick. And God led Him forth with peace. He was (and is) Shalom personified. Mountains and hills of grief and sorrow were turned into joy and singing, and the people (often likened to trees) rejoiced and clapped their hands in awe and wonder after experiencing and witnessing His Person and His wonders.
This is actually a prophecy of the coming Messiah.
