How To Pray For A Person Who Is Not Saved – Andrew Wommack

Continuation from:  What Prayer Is Not and Prayer: JESUS is our Mediator – Andrew Wommack

Prayer does not get a person saved

“I have been praying for this person for 20 years, and he/she still isn’t saved…”

Many people think that they can get another person saved on their faith. This cannot happen.

“So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31 NKJV

Some teach that this can be claimed for you and your house.

What this Scripture is saying, is that anyone who believes is saved.
If we could just claim, we could just claim the whole world.

“having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,” – I Peter 1:23 NKJV

It’s about having a seed planted. They cannot be born again without the Word of God entering into them. But instead of sharing the word, people are in their closets praying…

Jesus never organized prayer warriors. Jesus never sent his disciples to prepare the ground, but he did send them beforehand to publisise that Jesus was coming.

Paul never had interscessors that are holding his arms.
Nobody in Scripture who has ever changed the world has had interscessors. This is just foolishness.

The logic thinking for this is to break the demonic powers.
I believe there are demons in this room! Even Satan attended the last supper of Jesus. Jesus couldnt keep satan away from his communion meal, what makes you think that you can do that?

Depression is demonic… Many sicknesses are demonic…

We can’t get a person saved against their will. The Word has to enter their lives. We must preach the Word! We think that our prayers will save people. We are asking God to do what He told us to do.

If we had 10 people out there preaching and healing etc, this would be more than 10 mill people praying!

How did Paul deal with «Diana», the idol? He never did spiritual warfare or mapping, binding etc. They preached the truth! And because of that they nearly stoned Paul to death, because his preaching caused the worship of Diana nearly to be abandoned.

Demons have power because people believe the lie, and thats how they are empowered.

How to pray for a lost person?

There is demonic deception in a lost person.

“whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” – 2 Corinthians 4: 4

a) I thank the Father for this person,

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” – 2 Pet 3. 9

b) and I bind the blindness in the name of Jesus over this person.

This doesnt remove it. It gives a temporary relief. The individual is more in control over their life than I am. When you are praying for another person, the person has the right to void your prayer. So then you have to pray that prayer again. You blind the blindness,

c) then remember that they have to be born again, by the preaching of the Word:

“having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,” – I Peter 1:23 NKJV

“Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:38 NKJV

Pray that the word crosses their path. God, send somebody in their path. God wants to do this, but he needs a person to do this. But don’t ask him to send someone when he is asking you to do it.

d) Pray that they remember what they have already heard.

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” – John 14:26 NKJV

e) You cannot forgive sins, but you can deal with the effects of the sin.
Your prayer can give them protection. But they can void your prayer, so you need to pray again.

“If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” John 20:23 NKJV

f) Pray that they will be convicted, and hear the truth, but they have a choice.

Jesus wanted to bless people, but he couldn’t when they wouldn’t receive.

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!” Matthew 23:37

You cannot garanty that your mate will be saved, but you can pray for them that they’ll be open/convicted when they hear the Word.

“For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?” – I Corinthians 7:16 NKJV
